600 thread count sheets - $20!

At the Grocery Outlet in Elizabethton they have a HUGE box full of 600 thread count sheets in a variety of colors and all sizes for only $20. It comes with a fitted sheet, top sheet, and FOUR pillowcases! I had to try it myself and even after a few washes, the sheets are still luxuriously nice!
I just bought a set for my mother in law and I encourage anyone who needs sheets to go here too. You'd spend more than this on 200 thread count at Walmart - so check it out if you get out that way!
Good Luck,

Good Garage Sale Fun

We love going to garage sales on Saturday as a family. This weekend we spent more than we normally do but we got a lot of stuff we had been wanting. People often ask - what do you get at garage sales since you go every weekend. Well..... everything! Most of our clothes and toys come from garage sales and this weekend we even got a punching bag for my son who is in Taekwondo ( $3) and a mirror for our bathroom which we had been watching for sales at Lowe's. - they're regular $48, we got this one in perfect condition for $4.

Here is our garage sale day loot - minus the puching bag which is already in the garage. We got a Barbie doll head for hair styling - my daughter thinks she rocks! A horsey swim tube for going to the beach with the little ones, a Leap Pad, a fun night light, a Star Wars Monopoly Game, Gap boys shoes, a Fur Real Pet Pig, Old Navy Slippers for Momma, mirrors for the front bathroom, a bathroom rug in brand new condition, the West Wing fourth Season on DVD, and various other things. Not too bad for $25!
More than anything though, we usually have a lot fo fun doing this as a family - and yes, my husband loves it too!

After garage sales, we took the kiddos to Lowe's where the got to build a wooden helicopter for the kids crafts they do for free once or twice a month. The next on is the second weekend in August and I think it's going to be a boat. It's so much fun!

How have you saved this week?

Hey there, so yes, It's been a little while since I've posted. I've been reevaluating things around here and have decided to only do this blog as a hobby and not for pay in any way. I love teaching other women to save and live frugally and I love sharing little tiips that I've found to be helpful to me.

This week I went to Ingle's for their triple coupon week. YIPEE! You should have seen me in there with my buggy full of free gorceries. My initial total was $148. After coupons ------- $80.72! Wohoo. Most of that was meat and diapers, etc.. stuff you have to get wether you have a coupon or not :)

I had several people lined up watching the coupons add up and my total go down. It was all very rewarding :)

One of the great deals I found there (without coupons) was there 5 pound bags of potatoes were $1. There was a limit of four so I bought ----- 4.

I hate wasting so soon after I got home I broke open one of the bags and began peeling. I cut them into potato wedges and put them in a freezer bag to use later as french fries. We're having baked potatoes tonight and probably mashed potatoes, and potatoes au-gratin and potato salad later this week. LOL Kinda sound like Forrest Gump don't I?

By the time we're done with these, the potatoes for my garden should be ready so I better start learning how to get crafty with potatoes!
Feel free to share how you saved this week. We could all use some help in this area!

Weekly Grocery Deals

For the past few weeks I have been pretty slack on my grocery deals. I have been pre-occupied with healing after surgery and taking care of a teething toddler :) All very fun I assure you!

Anyhow, I've realized what a time consuming post it was to list each and every deal and I've realized I kind of like not doing it. There are some really good blogs out there that do a great job of listing the deals with the coupon matchups for each store.

One problem I've run into on those blogs is that they list EVERY deal. That's why I started this blog in the first place is to be a filter of all those deals from the other blogs and combine everything in one happy place with only the best deals.

For now though, I'm going to just give you the heads up on the best of the best deals and share some of my shopping trips with you. I have quite a stockpile going of freebies I've racked up so even if a tube of toothpaste is going to be $.50 after coupons and RR, I still don't go get it and may not think to tell you about it.
I will usually try to get ALL the freebies though. I either stockpile them for a later date or donate them or share them with friends and family.

I have a list on my right side bar of the ladies I think do the best job for each of our major stores around town. Be sure to check those blogs on Sunday or Monday if you need to do a grocery shopping trip that week. For example. I stocked up on groceries last week so I'm good this week. I may have to substitute with bread or milk throughout the week at some point but I don't need to go through all the ads and compare prices etc. You don't need to do this every week either!

I encourage you to make a menu each week to see what you do and don't need. That way if you know you're going to need something to go with the burgers you're making on Thursday, you might scan your favorite stores ads for the best prices, but knowing what you are looking for should make it go pretty quick.

Also, I wanted to let our local ladies know that if they wanted to try this way of grocery shopping buy comparing deals and using freebies, I will be happy to accompany you on your first journey. It can be intimidating when you're first starting out and I've gone on several "first" shopping trips and coached the person through it. Once you get going, it also helps to have a friend there sometimes that does the same things you do to share coupons with or bounce ideas of off. I know I usually go to Target once a week with a friend. It's a fun cheap way to get out the house and visit with your friends and get shopping done at the same time.

I will still be blogging, I love it. I will bring you great deals, coupons, samples, giveaways, and other wonderful tips to help us be better wives and mommies. Keep watching to see what MooreGirlyMom brings you next!

    Victoria Secret Discounts

I've said it before; I'm not an advocate of shopping if you don't need anything and I'll be the first to tell you that nobody NEEDS anything at Victoria Secrets.

With that being said, here is a way to get discounts on their new merchandise. I'm not sure if they will be good discounts or not but use discretion :)

Text on your cell phone the word "perfect" to the number 26435.

    Good Luck, Be Blessed,

    Jessica
